Our group will experience French cooking techniques, forage seasonal produce from eye-popping markets, prepare exquisite classic and creative dishes. Regional wine pairings will accompany our masterpieces.

Our adventure takes place in a stunning 18th century house, within walking distance to all that the city has to offer. The magnificent kitchen, sunny airy rooms, elegant furnishings, outdoor dining in the private courtyard, all set an ideal stage for our culinary collaboration.

Workshops are lead by Tess Kelly. She teaches a balanced, seasonal approach to eating. Her love of France and French cuisine runs deep, ever since her teenage years in Paris where it all began. We will also be joined by Angela Shore. She is the founder of Jiva-Apoha, a line of organic skincare oils for both men and women. She will be creating an all-natural body oil (a little bit of the South of France) for you to take home. Using local essential oils like Roman chamomile, lavender, and rosemary from Provence.

We’ll enjoy a walking tour, taking in the beautiful streets of Nîmes, ancient Roman sites, amazing gardens, art and more. In preparation for our outdoor adventures, we will explore the art of the French picnic as part of our workshop series.

The Jardins de la Fontaine is a few steps away from the house, ideal for picnics and exploring. This 17th-century park on 15 hectares offers Roman ruins & botanic gardens, plus ponds & sculptures. It was the first public garden in Europe. The Maison Carrée is an ancient Roman temple it is one of the best preserved Roman temples to survive in the territory of the former Roman Empire, is also within walking distance.

And lastly, we will celebrate our new found perspective on French cuisine (and life) by sharing a sensational dinner in one of the region’s highly-rated restaurants. Here we can share our successes, compare notes and congratulate ourselves on our own culinary creations.
